A few lines to inform you that Canada is being to issue a four stamp set on 10th August: two of the four stamps concern Basketball.
The first is a very nice stamp depicting the original peach basket and the original "football" ball used by Professor Naismith in the early days of our game.

The second stamp depicts La crosse, a game very popular in Canada; according to some stories, Professor Naismith was inspired also by La crosse in inventing 'our' basketball.

I received a copy of this issue and I would like to show it because of its very interesting format.
The 4 adhesive stamps were issued in a folder format only holding 2 complete sets. In addition to the 4 stamps there are also 4 more little round stickers depicting a pair of shoes used for each sport; on the background of the internal pages there are the drafts of a partial view of the courts for the 4 sports.
The front page shows modern pictures of the 4 sports while the back pages presents a very brief description of the 4 sports.
In the next issue of Filabasket Review, this issue will be examined in a more detailed way from an exhibition point of view.
