On Delcampe you'll find very attractive items depicting some of the most famous basketball players, from Bill Russel to Larry Bird to Allen Iverson and so on.
For your information similar items regarding Tennis were offered too.
I think that these stamps are not official and can be considered, at least, CINDERELLA.
Furthermore these cinderellas were printed in 2 minisheets of 12 and the dealer is selling each streep of 3 at Euro 2,90 (+/- US $ 3.10): so the total is about US $ 25 plus postage: not very cheap, indeed, for such an items!
Be carfeul in spending your money...

Hi Luciano,

I really don't know if these ones are regular emissions, but the stamps from Equatorial Guinea are official because this country belongs to UPU since 1970:

At the same way, we can talk about the opportunity to don't insert in our exhibitions these kind of stamps if we consider that all these players, probably, had never seen Equatorial Guinea, neither on postcard :D :D

:ciao: :ciao: :ciao:

You are right, Marco,
the Equatorial Guinea belongs to UPU, and can issue regular stamps legitimately.
The problem is that there are several ‘philatelic operators’ in the world who print, as their own initiative, very popular stamps under the name of ‘far’ African countries and sell these ‘false’ stamps mainly on the virtual market.
They do not have any authorization by the various governments and very often the same Governments make claims to the UPU stating that ‘such’ and ‘such’ emission is not authorized. As matter of fact nothing happens because it is extremely difficult to identify these forgers.
In conclusion it is very difficult to be sure that such kind of stamps are official; as further consideration/demonstration you can check the kind of paper and printing process: when both are very poor you can be 99% confident that those stamps are not official.
